Tina Frontera
Tina Frontera is senior director, Administration and Client Relations at
Patient Choice. Prior to joining Patient Choice,
she served as vice president of Account Relations and Implementation
at eBenx,a technology-based services company that manages the business
transactions between the buyers and suppliers of group health and
welfare benefits. Before that, she was at PreferredOne, a Minnesota-based
PPO, TPA and HMO. While at PreferredOne Ms. Frontera most recently
served as vice president and over a ten year period at the company
served in various senior management positions. Her responsibilities
included leading medical management, account management, marketing,
customer service, quality management, workers compensation management
and data management. Prior to PreferredOne, she was a senior manager
at Health Risk Management.
Ms. Frontera is licensed in both nursing and health and life insurance and holds an MPH from St. Mary's Graduate School and a bachelor of science degree from Cleveland State University.
Gunnar Nelson
Gunnar Nelson is director of Health Plan Analysis at Patient Choice.
He has more than 20 years of experience with health insurance data modeling in the Minnesota market.
Before joining Patient Choice, Mr. Nelson worked for Definity Health, a pioneer of consumer-driven health care that is now part of
UnitedHealth Group. While at Definity Health, he created the “Hospital Buyer’s Guide,” the first nationwide facility cost transparency tool for consumers. Prior to Definity Health, Mr. Nelson worked at PreferredOne, a Minnesota-based PPO, TPA and HMO for 11 years, serving in various management roles. He had responsibilities in the areas of provider analysis, price transparency and fee schedule development including the development of the provider payment architecture for a repricing software. Prior to that, he handled provider data analysis for Metropolitan Health Plan and Physicians Health Plan.
Mr. Nelson holds a bachelor of science degree in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
Christopher Passauer
Christopher Passauer is director of Data Services at Patient Choice. He has worked in the area of data services for more than 16 years, with more than ten years in the managed care industry.
Prior to joining Patient Choice, Mr. Passauer served as director of Database Management at PreferredOne. There he managed medical, dental and workers compensation databases for various HMO, TPA, and PPO products. Prior to that he served in several data analysts positions at Express Scripts, Inc.-ValueRx, a pharmaceutical benefit management company. While at Express Scripts, Mr. Passauer served as senior network analyst. He also held various analyst positions at Diversified Pharmaceutical Services. Before entering the health care industry he served eight years in the United States Navy.
Lisa Spann
Lisa Spann is director of Provider Value Management at Patient Choice. She has more than 15 years of experience working in health care within the Minnesota marketplace.
Before joining Patient Choice in 2007, Ms. Spann worked for Fairview Physician Associates (FPA), an integrated network with over 1,000 physicians, as the director of Analysis and Network Management. While at FPA, she was involved in contracting, care management, clinical quality initiatives and customer satisfaction. Prior to FPA, Ms. Spann held various positions at Fairview Health Services, which included experience in areas of clinic operations, quality and data analysis.
Ms. Spann holds a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Minnesota and a master's degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois.
